of Orchard Road and sandy beaches...

I'm back! The past week was awesome man! First, there was my Spore trip where I caught up with my sg & msia friends. Then came the weekend spent with my Hong Kong relatives. To be honest, I DO NOT like uploading photos on my blog, partly because I'm impatient ( unlike facebook, blogger's mode of uploading photos is so cumbersome and old-fashioned ) and also because I think that blogs are e-diaries where you're supposed to PEN down your thoughts and feelings i.e. you write (or to be exact, type). However, it is of utmost importance that I decorate my entry with images this time round since without them, the happening factor just isn't there anymore. Here's a few shots of the KK resort getaway as well as those of my sg trip. The rest of them are on my facebook account, so go check them out! :)Nexus Resort, Karambunei, KkKayaking + Loads of sun. Of Fishes and Tom Hanks...

Angels and Demons rock my world man. Watched it yesterday (Chong's birthday) and it was two and a half hours of hardcore entertainment ( even though I've read the book ). Tom Hanks reprised his role as Robert Langdon and some hot chic played the female lead ( Who's the actress btw?) Anyway, although I always say that nothing beats the book, the movie just might give Dan Brown's 'modern classic' a run for its money. The pace was just right and the sound effects were awesome. I must go get their soundtrack! A must-see movie of the year.

Went to Stephen Lo's estate for fishing this afternoon. One afternoon, 2 whole new experiences. Value for money sia! First new exp, driving in estate land ( muddy lanes full of holes and stones). To tell you the the truth, I was more worried for my precious white car rather than making it past the road itself but oh well... Siah kept telling me to drive slow so that the mud and stones wouldn't scratch the vehicle. Back to what I was trying to talk about: Fishing, which brings me to my 2nd new experience of the day. Armed with nothing more than a lean rotan stick and a few pieces of white bread, I managed to catch 2 fishes. 2! Needless to say, I am extremely proud of myself.

Going Spore tomorrow man. Will keep y'all updated after I return from my week of fun! Bye Bye.....

Cheers,

Entri Melayu Aku

Was reading some painfully funny/erratic Malay jokes earlier, and I came to realize that I have not been using Malay for quite some time. Two years, to be exact. So, I'm gonna start cakap-ing Malay now. Forgive me if the bm sounds cheesy or too cheena-fied, it's been quite a while.

). Rupa-rupanya, betina tu nak bersalin, kononnya. Lepas tu, dia bilang dia nak cuti sama bayi barunya selama 1 bulan. U tau how long dia takkan di pusat tu? 2 bulan! Celaka perempuan ni sia. Bila dia away, dia nak saya jaga budak-budak yang dah lebih 'matang' dalam pusat tu, alasannya I am the only one dia boleh trust, kerana cikgu lain di pusat tu semuannya dungu2 belaka. Responsku cukup simple je, I boleh buat kerja tu, no problem, tapi u bagi payrise lar. Saya seorang temp, u nak saya jaga/ajar/marah/pukul budak2 tu, I dah jadi instructer bukan? Bila dengar jawapanku, betina tu dah shut up. Warning lady, you don't give me more money, you can forget about it. You know what she went on to do? Kerana ini Kumon, so all the instructers perlu habiskan semua worksheet pusat tu sebelum boleh jadi penyelaras rasmi or whatever. She practically gave me 200 worksheets of bloody addition, multiplication, graphs, LCM, watvr questions to complete! You've got some nerve lady! You nak saya buat semua ni? Naikkan gaji, Ratu Goblok.

Enough, I don't want to waste my time on her anymore. Nasib baik aku akan ke Singapura untuk cuti seminggu! Woo-hoo! Perlu bawe mask bila ke airport? Might as well, better safe than sorry man. Keluarga ibuku di Hong Kong akan mengunjungi KK hujung bulan ni! Cukup menyeronokkan! Asal tak perlu lihat wajah raksasa tu, I terus laugh non-stop. Haha, cukup la ni, signing off with a joke. Till next time! :)

Five

1. Met Beverly in the gym today. Chatted for a while, she's waiting to go uni. She also told me that she'll be going to Serbia next week for a swim meet. Serbia! I googled it and its actually located in both central and southeastern Europe, surrounded by Hungary, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. Damn.

2. I'll be going down to Singapore soon! Yay, can't wait!

3. Kok, Tiana and Zie will be coming over to the east in July. Yesh...guys, stay on after the the 22nd lar, then we can go climb Mt. Kinabalu together. Natasha and her gang are going up then, so I 'm trying to ask others to join in. Trust me, its a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

4. Good Luck Cheryl Lau for your A's! Don't worry, you'll do just fine in the exam hall. 3 A's in the bag, c'mon!

5. The book that I just can't seem to stop reading right now: The sword of Shannara trilogy by Terry Brooks. Ultimate Awesomeness! His style of writing is reminiscent to that of Rowling's ( of Harry Potter), though much more descriptive and detailed, which i really liiiike.

Enough of this, time to once again immerse myself in Mr. Brooks' well-crafted fantasy land about the search for the fabled talisman to defeat the Warlock Lord and regain control over his fortress of darkness, Skull Kingdom. Ho ho ho ho.... His writing chops are legendary man, for real. A must read if you're the kind of person that's really into fantasy. Bye!

Fun Facts

I'm back from KK!

After a whole week of tele, math with my sis, sleeping and reading, I'm ready to resume my gym sessions and my part-time tutor job under monster lady. My pay-cheque, due to reasons unfathomable by me or any other sane human being, has successfully evaded me yet again. Maybe I'll be able to get my message across if I became all loony and went on a VirginiaTech-esque rampage.

Anyways, managed to squeeze in some quality reading time during my week-long stay, surprisingly. Am currently halfway through Bill Bryson's A short history of nearly everything. It is a really good read, informative but written in a lucid, conversational tone filled with brilliant to-the point adjectives, which makes it all the more interesting. He covers practically everything about science, not in-depth but extraordinarily stimulating to the mind. Here's an amazing fact ( to me anyways). Do you know that if you start traveling in a straight line from one point in the universe, you will never be able to reach its border/edge? You'll end up at your starting point instead. Cool, huh? The reason for this is because the universe, or rather space, bends in a way that makes it boundless but finite. It's like you're walking on earth, no matter how far or long you walk, you'll never reach the edge.

For those who have known this since primary school, congratulations, you have just won yourselves a day-pass to a 'laugh at your dim-witted friend' session who finally had the embarrassing privilege of getting to know this 2 days ago. As for the others, hope y'all are ooh-ing and ahh-ing right now. Bottom line is, the book is a bible for those who, like me, are in agreement that every single sentence penned in physics textbooks/Einstein biographies is an invitation to slumber.

Here's another fun fact ( not from the book). Take a look at your keyboard. Observe that there are 3 rows containing alphabets. Try forming words just by using alphabets from 1 row ( any row will do,important thing is all the alphabets making up that word must be found in the same row ). Do you know that the longest word you can form is 'typewriter'? I'm practically humming the star wars anthem to myself right now. Haha.

Till next time!

Cheers,
TIMOthy
